Slime Rancher is only available through Steam, GOG, Humble, Xbox, and Playstation stores (it's also available from some retailers). Each of those stores maintain the newest updates, which you'll need to sign into whatever store you used to buy the game, and download the updates from there. If you can't do that, then we're left to assume you pirated the game.

Not entirely sure if that is all the options, there was pre steam slime rancher which came from the official site.

But yeah, the source matters as it effects the possible issues.

I'm not sure of the scope they can help, but try contact Monomi Park directly at support@monomipark.com. They may be able to help you recover or provide you your Steam key once they verify your purchase.
