Feedback and general discussion of Slime Rancher

Appreciate it Waffle that you took my feedback as the criticism it is. (Thank god for no flames here lol) And yea...I write a lot :)

The way I'm looking for the game to move forward is about improving the core gameplay : Slime Ranching. That's why my daughter and I are overly excited to get Drones. I can imagine having those in late game and getting your farm going efficient. But expanding on that main theme - getting more slimes...mixing and breeding, selling plorts, building ranches (maybe external ranches to maintain?), exploring new areas to bring things back to your ranch (functional or cosmetic), or even cause stories in those areas by bringing in foreign elements. THAT is what I thought Slime Rancher is about (at least from all the dev talks I've listened to). Agreed, the race is a great escape, and no - as I mentioned it's a great way for the devs to experiment, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not the Slime Rancher I feel I've been playing. I've unfortunately not touched it since the update, and was hoping this would pull me back in for hours like the last one did. Even though I did all the content with the Sabers in about the same amount of time, it caused us to have more to experiment with in the game. I'm right with you that I love isolated worlds, but if it has no impact on my main game, and very very little reason for me to spend lots of time in that isolated world? Then why have it as part of the game?

As to the Chicken Coops though, I agree, you COULD do the one offs and go get them early in the game, but it's not intuitive. A new player to the game isn't going to know to go do the "racing minigame" in order to get the VERY needed upgrade for their farm. At least with the Sabers those garden upgrades are not needed....they're just bonus during end game making farming easier. So if you happen to not discover them until late game, big deal. This new chicken coop? This is what we've been looking for since day 1 unfortunately for chickens. I did play with it a bit, and it will absolutely make it viable now to hold single slimes for chickens, or largos that need chickens. They grow fast enough that you can maintain the hunger now. So that's why my feeling is that they should be more of a part of the "main game" and not something you find in a side mission.

I've been working with a fully upgraded (minus deluxe coop) for the whole game, and I've done fine. It's about finding a balance of hens and roostros, and there are good periods and bad periods - just like real animals.

It's okay I like to write a lot too hehe.

That's the thing though, I feel like we already have plenty of this in the game. I feel like the 5 major areas of the game already give you lots of cosmetics and exploring to do, there's like 15 types of slimes which leads to a ton of breeding. I guess this all just boils down to preference :p I can understand that even if the content we have in the main game is enough for me it might not be so for others.

I can't really comment on the effectiveness of either of the coops because I only have one in my ranch and it's only for the purpose of getting chickens for quests haha. I still can't agree that the deluxe coop was poorly placed in the game. As soon as you do the Mochi quest you receive an email to go to her Manor and the game even puts a little star near the teleporter you have to use to get there. You are right in the sense that it's hard to know it's there, since it's the second reward you get and you can't see which rewards you're going to get later on (maybe this could be added to the game?) so if a new player doesn't want Mochi's Extra Mile they may not even bother to explore the rest of the Manor for a while. But, that only essentially means that you get rewarded for exploring the different aspects of the game, which is always nice.

I'll also say, I don't think most new players will want the deluxe coop so badly. By the time they unlock Mochi's Manor they probably won't be too worried about chicken efficiency, I think that's something you develop later on, but I could be wrong.

I don't think the idle Nimble Valley theme is looped correctly. There seems to be a slight pause or skip in tempo between one cycle and the other.

I haven't played yet, what's your favorite part? What character do want an area for next? Favorite area of Ogden is Moss Blanket, Indigo Quarry for Mochi (just cause of that fact, she's my second favorite character.) What's BOb's? Is Charmander the best starter? Pokemon anyone?

The quickbois, the money, and the new 5 day rush mode! (well, it isn't exactly 5 days exactly anymore, so as kara said about game balance, let me tell a tale of victor, the hunterboi, and singlehandedly costing me a day of my 4.)

there is a toy slime machine there! it's just little out of the way; i didn't see it at first either. it's on the right of the house, near the trees.

Thanks, but it's on the left of the house.

When you walk into the Manor, turn left.

It’s my first post, so I hope to make it right.
I love the new update, it does feels a little different, but it was a little short maybe? I feel that I have finished it in much less time that Ogden’s one. I love the fact that we explore a little bit into the other ranchers lore, but maybe it’s too “little”? I mean Mochi and Ogden are characters that have a lot to provide to the lore or at least in the overall experience; as much as Tora and Viktor. I would love too that we were able to sleep in the expansions houses. The new Rush Mode is super fun and I love it.
Pls I know it’s hard work, but I hope the new update comes fast (or that is filled with new things and places, then I can wait).
Overall, I give it a 8.5/10
Stay Wiggly everyone c;

Just a little fact:

You can put puddle slimes in the small river in Mochi's manor.

They make plorts too.
Quantum tangles are the hardest slimes to ranch.

But who can say no to that cute little face?

They're still constrained to their population density limit, however. So don't think you'd be getting plorts by putting your 119 puddle slimes in it lol.

you were too late blocking quicksilver plorts from being brought off of Mochi's property! I already have my refinery completely full of them! >:D
