The Old Glass Desert (Discussion)

Postby SquillionthGamer » Wed Jun 28, 2017 12:26 pm

I'd like to here peoples' opinions of what the glass desert was really like before the firestorm thing and how you think that firestorm thing happened and what caused/built the huge rings, the structures and so on?

I think that it was once part of the moss blanket (more forest than jungle), connected by a land bridge. But the bridge was later covered by water, and the forest/jungle/thing became the glass desert.

Maybe the large crystals in the glass desert are some sort of alien device that drained the land of it's life and green and stuff.

Maybe it did used to be a beautiful and serene jungle (similar to the Moss Blanket) but the constant firestorms burnt away all the greenery

I don't think it is/was connected to the mainland, and I doubt it was ever a jungle. If it were, the soil would be VASTLY different to the glass desert rock and sand. I believe it would look like the oases covering the entire thing, and a bit more overgrown looking. Either that, or near-identical to the ruins, with a little less ruins.

I have a theory that the Glass Desert used to look just like it does with all oasises (Oasi? Oasusoes?) restored, but without the bubble, and with repaired structures. My theory is that the firestorms were always there but were contained by the structures and the ruin's crystal sconces. This means that when the ruins collapsed, the firestorms were uncontained and occured often, though the first few became trapped in time.

But that's just a theory.
A SLIEM THEORY.

Hey, maybe the Glass Desert is a completely different planet, and the teleporters were made from an ancient civilazion that praised the slimes. So probrably the slimes are native from the Glass Desert and colonized the Far, Far Range so quickly because the environment is more suitable for life (and, of course, were taken there by that civilization.

I think that the Glass Desert is on a sort of plateau above the slime sea on some faraway area of The Far Far Range. Judging by the oases, I would guess that it used to be a much more wild version of the Moss Blanket before the solar event that turned it into the Glass Desert.

I think Glass desert is on the far, far range either far forwards or backwards in time. sure, it may not be the indigogo quarry, moss blanket, dry reef, or ruins. but i still think its part of the far far range. possibly somewhere near to the range we play on. however the slime sea either doesn't exist yet, or doesn't anymore. the teleporter is a time travel device, using the true power of the quantum plorts

You don't think that it'd make more sense that the sand sea and slime sea are just separated?

The actual physical location of the Glass Desert is the sky. It's actually floating very high in the sky. Same for the Sand Sea and all other Glass Desert things. If you hacked the game and made it so that you had infinite flying and invincibility, you would be in the Glass Desert.
I like puddle slimes. They are cute.

I even made a map showing where the Glass Desert would be if it wasn't so high above.

You actually can't get the Glass Desert to appear if you got there with infinite flying. It only appears when you use a teleporter that leads to it.

Well I guess they could be.?...
But my question is how, a giant stone rim separating them?

I think it would make sense for the slime sea to slowly bake away leaving only the sand and slime
The sea baking away due to an over active sun, (also causing the glass) from the quantum slime plorts, if you read the plortenomics it states they combine realitys, with a almost sarcastic note of 'there's absolutely no side effects'
The side effects are reality stability
Then in the future, the teleporter and other gadgets Beatrix activated caused the glass desert, but the glass desert is still very far away on the range.

Or maybe the gadgets already had doomed that world from the beginning
Anyways, the ruins were built, then combined a whole bunch of time lines to get the quantum slimes, echos, all that other stuff. Then they built a teleporter to the far side of the planet using quantum plorts.
All the reality mess with the sun somehow, the slime sea slow bakes away and evaporates. Whilst the island is being scorched from the sun, then causing the glass it kills the jungle land scape.
The local residents see this, and in a last ditch effort create the Oasis plants to live in.

Conclusion.
