The Lab - What is it?

Sorry I have been absent from the forums for a bit :)

For the "Recent Development" part of the Update 0.3.4, Nick mentions a new area called The Lab.
I first thought of an abandoned building, with moss growing on it, and shaped like a Observatory.
Then I thought of Slime's that could have been tested on and broke free. Here is an Idea:
Subject B-15
"Been through some rough times. Literally!"
Slimeology:
A Slime with Red and Blue eyes, a Rough texture, and color is similar to a Tarr.
Plortonomics:
Plorts look just like a rock, except darker.
Diet:
Meat
Favorite:
Stony Hen Hens
Not Friendly.

Then I thought of a very... Different Idea. What about a abandoned City (Not Modern) that was abandoned, with a black sky, and overrun with Slimes? This would be much more sinister.

Just a Thought. What do YOU think?

I think its gonna be a Observatory with test tubes white boards with some backstory and random words
with some rad slimes because you know they seem like the most "lab made" slime and maybe computers with broken screens and a teleport to someplace.

I'm hoping it's Monomi taking people's requests that plorts be used for more than just money and doing something with it!! Or maybe, the VacPack will eventually get damaged, like when Tarr and Ferals bite you! You could use the Pack to shield yourself and prevent a faint, but then you'd need to repair it!

I think it will be a place where you can get new techs and upgrades for your ranch and vacpack. Hopefully there will be a few plots for building coralls and stuff too! I think it will be more expensive than the Grotto or the Overgrowth though.

Duplicating or mutating slimes with the use of plorts?

slimes are easy enough to get without duplication. i'd prefer the hats. :P

We're not ready to announce anything just yet as it's still very much in development and a lot of things are uncertain, but if the plans for the Lab pan out we'll be adding a substantial new feature to SR that should enrich the rest of the game world.

But, it's a very complex project so thanks in advance for your patience!

super exited to hear even that much! i'm sad that i don't really play aside from when a full version number ticks over, but i plan to start from scratch each time and hope that every time it's like a new experience that can get me hooked over and over again ^^
