Official FAQ updated regarding save files

Postby Nick » Wed Jun 08, 2016 1:51 pm

We've made some changes in recent patches that have adjusted how save files work as well as planning for how we'll structure future updates. As such we feel confident in revising our policy on save file wipes. The new entry in the faq reads:

Will game saves be wiped at any point during development?
Our intention is to never wipe saves or make them incompatible with previous versions of Slime Rancher. While it is possible that given the unpredictable nature of game development a situation may arise that could affect save files, we will do everything possible in order to prevent it.

It's worth noting however that updates may still affect save files in manners that are undesirable such as when we released the quarry and some players discovered they were now inside mountains. But all of these issues should be fixable.

Yeah...but didn't you find the game absurdly boring with nothing to spend it on?

Not really, mostly because I enjoy the time management bit of the game the most.

Ah.

I find that there's not that much to manage once you have silos full of food, plus coops and farms, since you can top off the feeders and then twiddle your thumbs.

Then again, I'm not sure I have as many corrals as others do, but that's mainly because I don't see the point in just building up the money.
