The slimes' disappearing act!

Postby Wizardofgrains » Wed Dec 27, 2017 6:10 pm

I am an administrator of the slime rancher club on Xbox. I have heard many stories about peoples' slimes, echoes, and ornaments disappearing when they load their save. There have been many theories about why this happens, the most accepted one being that if echoes are on the ranch, it causes this glitch to occur. I would just like to get to the bottom of this.

Best way to do that then is to open up a new save and test it.

I think this is far more likely to be due to file corruption.

Echoes are just object with high Normal maps. They shouldn't cause problems unless one uses huge quantities of them.

Ok, it's not echoes. We have tested it. But what is it then?

I'll note an oddity that might be related. So I had died a few times recently and my Slimes and Ornaments went missing. I figured it must be normal, because I couldn't remember what happened last time I died, which was quite a few months ago. But just recently, a little after I got rid of my Slimes to do some exploring, I fell in the water again, and my Ornaments were still there. And in retrospect, I don't recall losing my Slimes when I died to the Pink Phosphor Largos at the beginning of the game.

I don't know if that might have anything to do with the problem, but I thought I'd share that.

(I hope I'm not just stating something everyone knows and it's actually my recent thing that's the aberration.)

People are saying that it happened after an update, however, other people are still saying that it's happening. (By the way, A test has been done with 400-500 echoes. Nothing happened)

This happened to me too, with my Rock Phosphor slime. I had to create a new one.

This is probably just a glitch which they might fix in the mochi's megabucks update.
