We bought Slime Rancher from the Humble Store and just downloaded version 1.0 and installed over 0.6 on my son's computer and now when it starts we get a black screen with a mouse cursor, no audio, can't play.
Tried rebooting the machine but it does not help.
Latest updated version of Windows 10 with the latest Nvidia driver.
0.6 was working fine a few min ago.
Any help to get it working again?

Tried creating a shortcut with /lowGraphics per this post:

Upgrading from the previous standalone version, I had to uninstall (via the windows control panel) and reinstall. Until I did, I was getting the same black screen problem.
With Steam I had no problems, it upgraded seamlessly.
(And, can confirm, no saves were lost)

Uninstalling and reinstalling 1.0 worked!
Save game is intact. I need to figure out where that is so I can back it up. If slimes were lost now there would be many tears.

Your slimes are saved here:
C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\LocalLow\Monomi Park
on Windows.
"AppData" is a hidden folder, but if you go to your Users folder and then into your own personal folder, you can type "\AppData" on the end of the folder-path in the typable bar thingy next to the search box and it will get you there.
I've been freely copying the .sav files between PCs and it hasn't caused me a problem.
If you're running from Steam, the page says it has "Steam Cloud", which I think is Steam taking care of your saves and backups and stuff.
Edit: I'd be a little wary of keeping backed up saves across updates of the game. E.g., my saves from the previous version (0.6c?) to 1.0 worked fine, I don't know if saves from the previous version (0.6c?) to 1.1 (or whatever, when it exists) would work.

I'm going to try making that location a symbolic link into his dropbox like I did with the directory that has all his minecraft worlds.
If the computer crashes or something we should be able to restore from the dropbox.
