SR and Ideacentre 300 Stick PC

Postby Hatch » Wed Jun 28, 2017 4:08 pm

I assume the Stick doesn't meet minimum system requirements but need to make sure.

Error Log: https://pastebin.com/vTQFY31F
Output Log: https://pastebin.com/KaJrZ1C4

Computer Model: ideacentre Stick 300

Specs: Intel Atom Z3735F processor
Windows 10 Home
2 GB DDR3L-RS memory
32 GB eMMC storage
Intel HD graphics

Have only installed:
Steam
Slime Rancher
vcredist_x86.exe
oalinst.exe
dxwebsetup.exe

Is it texture quality that makes it not run properly on lower end PC's?
I don't know what the image quality being used is size wise, but couldn't it be scaled way down but retain quality?
Basically. What makes this tiny, beautiful, fun game...require so much to run it? It's too simple to be this demanding.

I can't help you much here, but this PC indeed doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
Also, the game requires so much to run it because it has to handle all of the physics going on in it.

Right but they could just offload some of the physics into a more compressed/simplified algorithm and fix the memory leaks? As well the images could be scaled down size wise to be more manageable but retain original quality. https://github.com/dropbox/lepton for example could be altered to handle the images, algorithms, and even audio in this game. Since it's open source, why not.
Physics doesn't have to be complicated to work.
The highest graphics settings need to be adjusted to run as if you were using the lowest quality settings, but retain the highest quality.
It could be coded better TO work for everything. Not just "oh well it doesn't work for "X" so it won't work."

It's not as simple as just simplifying the code. This would just make the game horrible and weightless.
