Slime Rancher not updating??!

So it was about a year ago I bought slime rancher, and I didn't have a steam account at the time so I bought using direct download. After installation, it was very slow so I put the game's files on a UPS drive and moved them to my faster computer. After this, the game runs fine, but it simply will not update! If there is a way to retrieve my steam access key again, please let me know. Otherwise, can someone help? Thank you!

did the direct download actually come with a steam key? ie was it from humble bundle?
If you want a Gordo as big as possible before starting to tremble, feed it 21 of any food that isn't its favorite!

It said that it did, maybe you cannot access the key after you leave the website?

Hello!

If you directly downloaded the game from Humble please follow these steps:
1) Return to your Humble download page. If you don’t remember your download page please use https://www.humblebundle.com/resender to have it re-sent to you.
2) Download the new copy of Slime Rancher.
3) Run the installer the same way as when you originally installed Slime Rancher. It will overwrite the old install. All your save games and preferences are stored separately, so they are safe.
4) You’re done! Happy ranching!

You can also redeem your Steam Key from your games library on the Humble Bundle page.
