Game constantly crashes

I downloaded the new update for Slime Rancher, but every time I try to open the game itself, it takes a few minutes and then my computer says that "Slime Rancher isn't Responding" and tells me to close the program. I tried downloading it multiple times and I've checked to make sure it's in the right folder, that my computer has space, and I've also tried the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions multiple times.
