[SteamOS]Black screen in main menu

Hey friends,

as described in the subject. I have a problem on my Steam Machine.

The game starts with a black main menu. I can hear the slimes jumping but the screen is black.

I am able to blindly start the game and after loading (also black) the game runs great.

My system specs:
AMD CPU (dunno more)
NVIDIA GeForce 750Ti 2GB
16 GB RAM

Any suggestions?

Did you change the graphics settings at all to trigger this?

That's what I did, and I had to remove my old prefs file and start over.

To do that, navigate to ~/.config/unity3d/Monomi Park/Slime Rancher

Then, I renamed my file rather than outright delete it with

Code: Select all

mv prefs prefs.bak

in a terminal. Then, I reloaded the game, and it worked fine.

thanks for your reply. The problem still prevails but at the moment it sometimes works. Next time I encounter it, I will try your method and rename the file via ssh. :)
