Overgrowth not producing chickens..

Postby asdfghjklinkin » Thu Apr 14, 2016 12:23 pm

It seems, from others' posts and my own experience, that if there are chickens in the overgrowth in coops that the overgrowth will stop spawning chickens. I rely on these chickens to feed my slimes, so no spawning chickens = starving slimes.

If you have any sympathy in your hearts, save my slimes! Bring back the chickens!

I'm thinking this is probably from something in the coding stopping over a certain amount of chickens from existing in the overgrowth, to fix the horrible lag if you don't check on it for a few days. However, I feel that even though this was meant to fix a problem, there could be different ways to fix it that wouldn't stop all chicken spawning.

you can only have a few chickens in the overgrowth at a time... so I would demolish the coop and instead grab chickens that are spawning. it takes a few mins sometimes but it's better than no chickens

But I'm using the coop to try and breed stony hens. It just takes a really long time..

Yeah coops are painfully slow but if you want stony hens it's the only way

I recommend making runs to the Moss Blanket; you can find Stony Hens right at the beginning. Then there's the spot right after the feral pink rock largos in the Dry Reef, plus the area up the bridge right as you enter the Indigo Quarry (from the Grotto Teleporter).
