Save file is gone :(

I knew that there's a fix so I quit my steam page and turned it back on so the game could be updated and I launched the game. But my save files still not there. Is there any way I can recover my save file or do I just have to start my game all over again :(

None of my old save files were there after the fix, either, but I'm not that worried about it. I just started over. However, rip my 300000+ newbucks.

So I was able to create a new game and play on it for a while but when I went to play on it again after saving and quitting it began from the very beginning. Also for some reason I am unable to find either a Monomi Park or unity.Monomi Park.Slime Rancher folder in my Application Support folder.
I'm going to start a new game again to make sure that what happened was a one-off thing.

Ok so there's actually no problem with reloading my new save file I guess that was an issue on my hand :/

Concerning this particular issue:

So I was able to create a new game and play on it for a while but when I went to play on it again after saving and quitting it began from the very beginning.

There is currently a bug out there that will erase your current savegame and replace it with a fresh one if you accidentally double click the "Continue" button on the main screen. See this announcement. Please be very careful with the Continue button at the moment and make sure you only click it once.
The team is of course working on getting this fixed as quickly as they can.

Unfortunately there's very likely no way of bringing the games back that were lost this way. Apologies.

There's such a problem like this? A solutionfor now would be something like manual backup of saves.
