Freezing on Start Up - Mac OS X

Postby Cheezles » Mon Mar 07, 2016 12:16 am

I have recently bought and downloaded the Steam version of Slime Rancher and I am enjoying it very much.
I played it for a while and then went off it for a few hours and when I got back to play it, it froze every time I went on to play it.
First I restarted the game a few times, still freezing on start, after a while, I restarted my computer and turned the power off and then turned my computer back on, still not working, and then I deleted the game contents and reinstalled it, still doesn't work.
There has been no updates since I got the game and it was working fine a few hours before.

Please help.

Hey Cheezles, sorry to hear you're having trouble.
Have you changed any in-game settings prior to the trouble such as graphics settings?

Sorry I am getting back so late, but I read other forums to see what they did and I tried every way but none worked. Also, it does not let me even touch the game once I get on it. The entire game freezes instantly once I open it. Here is a list of what I tried:
I redownloaded the game, I verified the integrity of the game, it said that no files were corrupted after I've done that, I have lauched it in safe mode, I restarted my computer twice and I have even watched YouTube videos and read multiple websites discussions about this game but even after I lauched the game after every time I did one of those but got nowhere. Even five days later when I am trying to open it now, it still does not work. I really really love Slime Rancher and still want to be able to play it because I loved it.

Thank you for your reply.

Can you give us your system specs please?
Any mods installed?

EDIT: I just launched Slime Rancher to see if I had any luck on getting it to work and I did but when I opened it one minute later because I needed to do something, it froze again!
Please help, I really do like this game and would wish to play it again.
I will try to wait a little longer for it to open it that is the problem, but I don't think it is.
