was able to reproduce it in the video there
pretty much just spam the sleep button and then return to ranch before it finishes. I didn't see it in the known issues so I reproduced it and recorded it

FIX:
*If you have items on you, throw them on the ground first.
Knock yourself out at the cliff behind the house, exit the house when you wake up, enter the house again, sleep again and actually let it finish sleeping.

I don't have problems stopping it as you can see in the video. I can manage to control it to the extent of starting and stopping it whenever. Was just reporting it incase they were not aware of the issue but I guess they are

This has happened to me too! I hadn't seen it happen to anyone else before and I actually didn't try to do it again - I haven't yet tried bugging the game deliberately and/or purposefully doing this but I only attempted to keep sleeping and then just log off.
