I love slime rancher but I have now lost not one but two save files. The game randomly crashes and twice it has actually corrupted the save file. I don't have ps4 plus because I can't afford it. It's disheartening when all my hard work just vanishes like a gold slime. Is there any way to manually fix the corrupted save?

If the save file displays as being corrupted when trying to select it from load, I'm afraid not :(

The concern is with the crashes; it sounds like there is no pattern to it, but I just want to make sure you are not seeing any commonality.

Also curious, do you close out of apps on your PS4 completely, or leave them suspended? Have you done a rebuild of your database any time recently? And how are the fans on your PS4; can you check to be sure they are clean and you have room for air flow?
