Corral population levels

Postby Nunn » Sun Jan 24, 2016 1:33 pm

I was just wondering how many slimes you folks place in each corral. I'm sure this varies depending on the species of slime. And the size. But I would love to hear what you guys do :D!

I used to start with one to three largos per corral. Then I figured that twelve is also a perfectly reasonable number.

I also keep a corral of 80 Pink Slimes as a biological source of waste disposal.

All of my corrals have 15 or less. I don't certainly have any largos, so that means there more room anyways. I'm just nice, I don't like them to be cramped c;

my side areas are kept as free range, so those areas currently have 30 - 60 largos (i haven't bothered to count and the number will probably keep increasing as long as they are manageable and sustainable) with fruit trees of their favored variety to keep them fed, happy, and away from exits. rock / honey largos with mint mangos in the overgrown section and phosphor / tabby largos with cuberries in the cave.

but my boom / rock largos (the rock portion will probably be traded for rad slimes when they are released because currently the rock is redundant) stay tightly locked away in a set of 3 pens and when one escapes i throw it in whatever pen seems to have the fewest slimes. those pens probably have about a dozen slimes each.

Why don't you switch out the rocks for honeys? More cash and less rolling in your face.

I have 12 Honey Tabby largos, total.
Oh and three coops to keep them fed.
Why would I need anything more?

chickens are a pain to keep in large enough numbers to feed slimes effectively. personally i keep mint mangos for my honey slime hybrids.

6 of meat eating and puddle slimes, 10 of fruit and veggie eating slimes. No largos, they are abominations, although whenever I've tried to have them I've had 4 in a corral.
Slimes do not roam free, although I've considered it.

Let's see here...I have...
Main Ranch:
- 10 Puddle Slimes
- 10 Tabby-Honey Largos
- 10 Rock-Boom Largos
- 10 Tabby-Rock Largos

Grotto:
- 15 of each Phosphor Largo

Overgrown Section:
- Roughly 20-30 Boom-Honey Largos

If you're wondering how I handle them all, it's pretty easy. Every single one of my Largos will eat meat or fruit (sometimes both), so I grow a lot of Cuberries (and actually have 200 in a silo for safety concerns). I have a pen where I grow Briars and Stonies, although typically I throw those into the Overgrown area and feed them Hen Hens. XD

Let's see... on the main ranch, I have 5 of every slime [except Rad, Phosphor and Golden obviously] in their own seperate corrals. 5 tabby, 5 boom, 5 rock, 5 pink, 5 puddle, and 5 honey.

Then, in the Overgrowth, I have 1 single tabby that runs around freely, allowed to do whatever they want [My first tabby, such a precious baby <3]

And in the Grotto... well, that's where my 'experimental' tabby largos are. :D One for each pen! Rock-Tabby, Pink-Tabby, Phosphor-Tabby, Boom-Tabby, and Honey-Tabby. I just love the tabbies so much, that's why all of my Largos are part-tabby XP
And the Tabby said.. "Meep!"
