If Half-Life taught me anything about immersion, it's that crouching solves two of the most inconvenient problems in an FPS that would otherwise have them: waist-height obstacles and invariably permanent top-down view on anything shorter than waist-height.
Not only would crouching allow you to get a much more desired view of the world in the perspective of a slime, but the ability to better maneuver terrains like passing over fences and platforms more swiftly is an excellent credential for any fit and ready-to-go rancher and explorer.
And speaking of having a better view of the world, it would be great to add binoculars as an upgrade for you to zoom-in across the distance between yourself and whatever object you're trying to identify as something you'd wan to rush toward to as quickly as possible before a nearby slime beats you to the punch and concludes its existence as lunch.
