In order to ensure that it appears 2D from all directions, Beatrix's mouth is modelled at a negative depth.

He calls it "Fake 2D". I like those Twitter posts that go into how the game is built.

Including the bugger-ups.

Oh yeah, you know how before, a puddle slime's slimepedia pic was basically a pink slime that was blue?

We actually have two fashion pods slots to use, front and top. But because every fashion pod uses the front slot, the top slot went unused. If we were able to use it, you could have two fashion pods at once.
Image

Oh, and the tiara is floating in the photo because it was intended to be used in the front slot, not here.

Man, that's sad. I wish we had two slots.

We do, one's just unused.

Reminds me of Spiral Knights, with the helmets with multiple slots for accessories; top, side, front and back.

In theory, a puddle gordo is possible, just very difficult.

Within the code, almost every behaviour of a slime that has a cool down period between activations, varies by up to a second depending on agitation level.

Well, depends. Rain has been in the game, unused, since Update 0.2.0.

For clarity, 0.2.0 was the first version that came into Early Access, at the 17th of December 2015. Official release was the 1st of August 2017.

Nearly two years.

I'm kinda glad we've been keeping copies of all the update logs.

Slimes treat the Saber Slime Mudball as a slime toy.

All the different kinds of slimes crowding round it. Tabbies prioritise following you over it most of the time.

Largos like it too.

I'll note that they treat it like that in the Wilds, too. I think even Feral Slimes will mess around with it if they don't see you, but I'm not positive.

There's actually a portion of the rocks in the Glass Desert (which you can rest on to restore your energy, but can't stand upon to actually jump from, if that makes sense) where the map will claim that you're in an unknown location, but will still show your location on the map. I think it's on the rocks that separate the western path (the room with the two Slime Doors gives an eastern path and a western one) and the part where the two paths join up, but I'm not sure.

Also, there's a way to get onto the structures above the teleporters in the Glass Desert. I don't think any Treasure Pods are on them (though I might misremember), but it's possible, and the roofs have a surprising amount of detail.

Anywhere that isn't detected as an existing biome is referred to as UNKNOWN, which is mainly restricted to areas away from the mainland such as flying over the slime/sand sea. But interestingly there is a "Slime Sea" biome which only gets used in a few locations. Going along the islands to Moustache Island being one of them.

An established zone intended to be hidden from the map completely (Like The Wilds, the interiors of The Vaults, etc) will have the icon replaced with a question mark pointing to the origin zone of The Dry Reef. This is because their true locations are in rather random areas of the game map, which unload when you're away from them.

Going along with this, the island near the first Tabby Gordo with the feral phosphors is classed as the slime sea, unlocked on the map with the moss blanket map node, and uses the dry reefs drops for slime Science Resources.
