Suggestion: Boss Slimes!

Postby MLeonhardt » Wed Jan 20, 2016 2:08 am

Something I thought could be fun. Boss Slimes at the end of certain areas guarding teleports or pathways to new areas. These Boss Slimes would require daring and courageous acts of courage and daring to defeat.

For Example:

The Hydra Slime: Slimedra
The Slimedra would appear as a massive, lime green slime sitting in the middle of a large pool of water. When the rancher approaches, 3 little happy smiling slime heads would emerge on beaded slime ball necks, and then all go "Rawr!" and start trying to headbutt you.

To fight this multi-headed mucus, you must shoot a certain type of food into each mouth to calm it down. For example, the middle head would only eat meat, the left head would only eat vegetables, and the right head would only eat fruit. Thankfully there are plentiful supplies of food around his little battle arena.

Once each of its heads is fed (Like 3 of each food until they're smiling) they can be sucked off of the body with a sustained stream from the vacpac (The heads would be Largo sized and unable to be sucked up.)

After all 3 heads are fed, removed, and bouncing around the arena, the body will shrink into a 4th head, and join the others, happily releasing a total of 12 valuable Slimedra Plorts, and opening the way to the new area.

(Slimedra Plorts would be like Gold plorts, and can't combine with other slimes.)

After certain event reached activate the Golem Slimes. Notice those boulder things that look like slimes hanging around?

Charge Attack: the slime rolls in place charging up then will roll at high speeds towards you

Earthquake: leaps into the air then lands shaking the ground immensely slowing you while sending out a shockwave that stuns you temporarily if you are hit.

---

How to defeat: throw a boom slime at it exploding and stunning the golem(s) temporarily. While it is stunned shoot water at it.

Shoot it with 50 charges of water to defeat it causing it to burrow away.

Watch out these tend to come in pairs so can be pretty difficult to kill.

Edit: kinda wanna add these are like guardians and so they may be activated by an enemy like mega-tarr and start off attacking those leaving you alone until you start hitting them

That's the best idea i've seen! Using boom slimes as grenades sounds hardcore!

I was kinda going for a more happy fun Boss battle, but exploding them with boom slimes is good.

Though the problem is that Boom slimes only explode randomly, so they'd be difficult to use in a fight.

A kind of natural, growable weapon, like, exploding pinecones or something could be cool.

Maybe you could put the Pinecones with Boom slimes in your Vac-Pac (because they look like they are emitting alot of Heat) and after an short while the Icon of them would Blink Red indicating that they are about to explode and then you would have to shoot them at that Moment

Maybe have a boss that isn't big, but it's small and fast, like the gold slime. Maybe like the lightning slime similar to the fast pikachu in pokemon snap, and you only find him in a cave after triggering an event, and you have to chase this lightning face slime around a dark cave and either tucker him out, or make some sort of trap with food and the environment.

Bosses seem like a cool idea, but you you just "defeat" them and get some plort and they fade away? Or maybe they stay in the area and become your friend. The Hydra idea you had, he could become a set of stairs or an elevator to help you get to a new place, and he's smiley and chill in his pond.

I really like the idea of triggering events out in the world by doing tasks on your farm. Like sell 100 plorts of each kind of the 4 basics and this will happen, or own 10 elderly hen hens, and the Wizend Slime appears in thr grotto.

Would you be able to carry the Slimedra Largos back to the Ranch?

or other ranchers from other planets trying to populate and sabotage your ranch from surpassing theirs..dropping evil slime bosses in random areas to reduce slime population...it could be interesting for a story driven feature or random events competing with AI ranchers.

Wow, cool ideas so far! We've got to have a flying slime boss too, though... maybe a Dragon Slime or a Demon Slime you have to beat? And I agree that they should stick around and be "tamed", and possibly provide more plorts if you feed them afterwards, but they don't get hungry as quick as the other slimes.
