Paths to linear should it be expanded into just one map?

Since this is kind of a sandbox game I was wondering if you guys thought the games paths are to linear like you follow a guided path so there is a real low sense of discovery since you can just keep going back to the same spot all the time, part of wrangling that would be great is the sense you've discovered a rare slime or a herd of slimes from venturing into random places, do you guys think its to easy to find a bunch of slimes?

There are some hidden paths, like the one to find the Phosphor Gordo. That was the only one that really jumped out as "hidden" though.

Keep in mind, this is early alpha, and the environment is not yet fully developed. It would, however, be nice if places like the Moss Blanket had branching paths or a path that led back to the beginning.
