Gold Plorts are usually worth a measly 300-400 newbucks, whereas, given their incredibly rarity, should be worth closer to 1500 newbucks or more.
That, or gold slimes should be at least a little bit less rare. I've played about 80 hours and only ever seen maybe 8 or so, and have succeeded in obtaining maybe 4 gold plorts in total.
