Development

Is there a development roadmap?

Yes, a broad development roadmap can be found here.
Please note that this roadmap is subject to change.

Are the PC / Xbox One / PlayStation 4 versions of Slime Rancher the same?

Yes, our aim is to keep all versions in sync. However, the release dates of new content may vary by system due to differing submission/approval processes.

Does the Xbox One / PlayStation 4 version of Slime Rancher support Xbox Achievements / PlayStation Trophies?

Yes! You can earn Xbox achievements, PlayStation trophies, as well as in-game achievements!

Is there a Switch version in development?

Right now we are focused on making a great experience for PC, Xbox, and PS4. While we are not currently developing for Switch, we definitely hear your requests!

Will Slime Rancher support multiplayer?

Slime Rancher was designed to be a singleplayer experience. We currently have no plans for multiplayer and it would be a significant technical undertaking to accomplish, assuming it is even possible! (the physics simulation in Slime Rancher is unlike any other game on the market) However, Slime Rancher is constantly in development and will continue to evolve over time. So, anything is possible!

Will Slime Rancher support other languages?

Slime Rancher currently supports English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, and Russian, with more planned for the future. Check our Development Roadmap for more information.

I have a great idea for a feature in Slime Rancher, where can I post it?

You can share your ideas, give feedback, and more right here on our official forums.

How do I update Slime Rancher?

Steam – If your computer is connected to the internet and Steam is running, updates should happen automatically. Steam will also check for updates when you start the game. However, you can check for an update by right-clicking Slime Rancher from the Library screen. In the Properties section, under the “Local Files” tab, select “Verify integrity of game cache.” Steam will check for updates during this process.

Humble – Updates are not downloaded or installed automatically, but the most recent builds can be found on your Purchases page. More information can be found here: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en- ... Free-Games

GOG – Updates for games purchased on GOG are automatically handled through their client, GOG Galaxy.

Xbox One – If your Xbox One is connected to the internet and either powered on or in rest mode, updates should happen automatically. The system will also check for updates when you start the game.

PlayStation 4 – If your PlayStation is connected to the internet and either powered on or in rest mode, updates should happen automatically. The system will also check for updates when you start the game. However, you can check for an update by selecting the Slime Rancher icon from the Home screen or the Library, pressing the Options button, and selecting “Check for Update.”

Does the DRM-free version of Slime Rancher auto-update?

No, in order to update the DRM-free version of Slime Rancher you need to re-download the game. However if you use your Steam key, the Steam version does auto-update.

I would like a refund!

Refunds are handled through the storefront the game was purchased from, and vary slightly by platform.

Steam - Steam will normally allow a no questions asked refund if less than 2 hours of playtime have been logged and you've owned the game for under 14 days. Their full policy is here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/

Humble - Humble store refunds are normally handled via their email system. Instructions and all the information you'll need to have on hand can be found on their website: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en- ... /203662804

GOG – GOG refunds are handled via email, and follow the guidelines outlined in their Money Back Guarantee Policy. Details can be found on their website, here: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articl ... tee-Policy

Microsoft Store - While the Microsoft Store typically does not offer refunds for games that have been purchased and played, they evaluate every situation on a case-by-case basis. Details on their policy can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... scriptions

PlayStation Store – While the PlayStation Store typically does not offer refunds for games that have been purchased and played, they evaluate every situation on a case-by-case basis. Where can I find the logfile for my game?

Logfiles are in different locations, depending on the operating system and/or the platform used:

    Windows – ~\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Monomi Park\Slime Rancher\output_log.txt

If this file path cannot be found on your computer, you may need to enable the visibility of hidden files. Information on this can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... dden-files

    Mac – ~/Users/[username]/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

If this file path cannot be found on your computer, you may need to enable the visibility of hidden files. Information on this can be found here: https://ianlunn.co.uk/articles/quickly- ... mavericks/

    Linux – ~/.config/unity3d/Monomi Park/Slime Rancher/Player.log

DirectX 9

My computer meets the minimum system requirements but the game is crashing on startup.

    Please try the following steps:

      1. If you're on Steam, validate your game files: In your Steam library, right-click on Slime Rancher. Select "Properties" and then "Local Files". Then click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

      2. Try launching the game in Safe Mode: Right-click on Slime Rancher and select "Launch in Safe Mode" (Or see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=619 for non-Steam instructions)

      3. Update your graphics drivers. These are most likely available via either: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx or http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

If none of these steps solve your problem, please find the game logfile (See above for where to find it) and send that to support@monomipark.com for further analysis of the issue.

Can I mod Slime Rancher?

There is no official means to mod Slime Rancher at this time and we do not officially support it. You are free to do it on your own, but by modding your game you may be forfeiting support from Monomi Park if you experience technical issues.

Additionally any mods that are used to simply access unreleased content are very much frowned upon. We're working very hard to deliver exciting content updates to our players and distributing mods that allow access to incomplete versions of this content is bad for us and for players waiting patiently for it.

We don't want to give you the impression that Monomi Park dislikes mods or modders. But, simply put, mods greatly complicate the way we are able to support the game and ranchers playing it. Though we may support modding one day in an official capacity, we are currently focused on delivering the game we've planned for our players. We hope you understand.
