My introduction and first impressions *MEGATHREAD*

Postby SerSquidd » Tue Jan 12, 2016 3:52 pm

Hey there! My names Calvin, but you can call me Squidd.
I saw an article on this game through PC Gamer on Facebook, and it looked pretty interesting.
I don't usually hop on board of Early Access stuff anymore, but this game was too cute and interesting to pass by.

That was three days ago and have since played about 14 hours of the game, playing about 3 different save files and trying different play styles every time.
I've come to share my thoughts and give my suggestions on what I've liked, what I'd like to see, and bounce ideas off the community (And if I'm lucky, the Devs!)
I know its Pre-Alpha, and the idea right now in development is to get mechanics working. So when I make a suggestion, its not a "OMG why dont you have this added?!!!?" Its more-so a "I feel this would improve upon the game if implemented."
I feel as though I have a good understanding of where the game sits now, but haven't been able to find anything in regards of a list of features the Devs would like to implement or work on.
So before I get off track, Ill jump right into it!

Ill be listing these in Multiple Threads, so not to clutter up the discussion with multiple topics.

A reason to play!

Why build an Incinerator?

Why does the Incinerator exist?

The incinerator exists so you can throw water at it, take a screenshot, and stare at the image.

I wish I understood what that means.

Ill admit, I booted up the game, grabbed some water, and did what you said.
I didn't see anything D:

I sometimes briefly build one when I'm trying to clean up massive amounts of Largos. My computer is kinda crap for gaming so it tends to lag and I'm too impatient to grab Largos one by one and run them up the stairs to toss them, then run back to grab another one, and repeat and repeat for however many Pink Tabby Largos I've managed to bury myself in...

Besides that, there is also the achievement. c':

XD To be serious... My name is actually Tabby, and I adore cats, so when I was introduced to this game I absolutely had to farm all of the Tabby Slimes. There was no other option. :P And with their diet being what it is... Yeah, I ended up with Pink Tabbies. And they were fine, until I needed to replace them with Honey Tabbies. XD

No. It never was. Nor was my old icon being this image: Image

Long story short: Do not let Boom Tabby Largos loose in the Overgrowth and then try to pick up their plorts.

I have a good amount of Boom Tabby Largos in a coral in The Grotto. Although I do find it difficult to farm Stony Hen, one trip from the Ranch to the Moss Blanket including the Overgrowth, and I have more or less a full inventory of Hen Hen and Stony Hen. The Boom Tabby cause no serious trouble in a coral, and I haven't tried letting any of the slimes loose in the Overgrowth for safety reasons.

I like to mutate the slimes with ones that share the same category of food, i.e. Boom / Tabby, Honey / Phosphor and since there isn't another slime that likes veggies yet Rock / Pink.

But at that point, wouldn't you rather have Honey Boom Largos ? More Profitable at least.

You clearly do not understand the idea of "cute".

But Honey Booms have such awful diets D:

I Could understand having ONE around.. for cuteness/Ranch Mascot. But having two different hens for their favorite, it just seems like a mess.

Why would you use two different hens for their favorite? Only use 1!
