If slimes are supposed to detect Honey plorts from farther away than other plorts, how come that isn't true?

This is how far a slime can detect any plort:

I've found that bits like that in the slimepedia don't actually happen in gameplay (example, i've never seen a phosphor plort disappear in the daytime. They just sit around and turn into largos because a slime ate them). I imagine extra details like that referring to plorts aren't meant to be experienced ingame, and are written rather to flesh out the slimepedia entries. It's also possible that the lack of these actions are due to bugs, or the devs haven't prioritised implementing them. (I appreciate the effort you put into testing slime's ability to detect honey plorts. My statements about phosphor plorts are just based on experience and finding pink-phosphor largos randomly popping up in the middle of the day.)

Yea. That's why I think of honey slimes just being pink slimes but better and with a favorite food.

Yet, they won't eat anything except fruit unless you make them a largo that can eat other food types.

So if you have only honey slimes and veggies...
