Why does every game now have to get multiplayer?...
I don't know much about the stuff you posted here, but it's still highly unlikely that we will ever have it.

According to the FAQ, the devs made the decision to focus on single player, due to, at the time, they were only two devs. It also states that in the future, they may re-visit and re-evaluate the idea of multiplayer... If Nick has posted that they are not intending for a multiplayer component, they need to update the FAQ then. :|

We are very much interested in multiplayer, we just are not sure it'll actually be possible, and we remain committed to finishing the game we set out to make, not add on big features and push out the v1.0 release.

We'll look into it in the future, but again, SR pushes physics so hard it just might not be possible to double that load across two clients.

If Slime Rancher were to have multiplayer, they would have to first add the model for Beatrix or else people would report bugs of a strange entity in the form of a dismembered arm holding a vacpack.

Single player games are the future! I prefer games without multiplayer.

I would like multiplayer yet I like singleplayer. Mulitplayer would let your friends feed your little gooballs while you adventure, but then that would let them screw up your ranch. Such a tough desicion.
