Slime rancher on the Nintendo Switch

Postby TheChaoticClappj » Tue Feb 28, 2017 6:12 pm

I dunno but i think if you guys at monomi park worked hard enough maybe you could get slime rancher onto the switch. As you guys know slime rancher is already on the Xbox One and is perfectly family friendly so i think it might be possible. Just imagine how awesome playing slime rancher on the go would be !!!
I love slime rancher and everything about it. I can't wait to see what this amazing idea will become in the near future!

I've heard Nintendo is pretty hard to work with for 3rd party devs. I dunno that much about it though... but it would be awesome if they could port it for the Switch! I'm also wondering if the New 3DS might be powerful enough to play it with scaled back graphics? I would kill for a 3DS port myself. xD

Nintendo recently became easier to work with.
And about this, it's up to devs to decide if they should port it over. It likely won't happen until the game gets out of early access, because Nintendo doesn't have an early access program.

Ah okay that's good. Nintendo is always a little slow on the uptake with new things like that. xD

That would make sense and it would probably be easier to port it after it's out of early access anyway?

I just realised. If slime rancher got ported over to the switch wouldn't that mean it would be PLORTed over to it ?

Sadly, I doubt this would happen as Nintendo generally only choose a few games for their consoles. Besides, the devs are still working on 0.5.0.

Also, Nintendo is japanese.

Apparently, Nintendo of America doesn't exist.

Still, they'd need to speak to main Nintendo to work on the Nintendo Switch. It's still in development.

I would love to have this game as a portable game like the 3DS and such. I would even love minigames for android and such that if linked to your steam will help you get newbucks and such. I can see one minigame now: Plort Races, race cars made of different plorts to see who has the better combination

I registered an account on the forum just to ask, now that the game has gone to 1.0.1 and that Nintendo has already proven, that they don't make much of a problem for sucessful indie devs to get their game on Switch.

Also, the devkit is cheap as hell (people write that it is 20% more expensive than the console), and the game is made in Unity, which has Switch support "out of the box".

So I hope we get a Switch version on the game - buying it day one if it arrives.

This is no necro, mostly because NOW this topic has sense, because it is realistic to achieve.

The question is "Is Monomi Park interested?"

Nintendo is easy as heck, as long as you don't mind weeks of Nintendo breaking your game for you to fix tons of porting bugs. Alongside that, MP has an advantage with their game already running in the Unity Engine, a game that's easy as heck to port to consoles.

Even somewhere one of the devs said that they'd like to port it, but they're waiting after the release of 1.3 to work on it. [Citation Needed]
