Pre-Order Question

Postby miT311 » Tue Jan 05, 2016 4:52 pm

Thanks for the add! Absolutely love the game footage I've seen so far.

Definitely want to pre-order but just want to confirm that I am able to play it, without a Steam account/software.

Can this be played as a stand alone software without Steam?

Thanks in advance!

Not familiar with humble bundle so not sure why that would matter?

Creating a Humble Bundle account will give you access to a library of all your games/keys you purchase from there which you can download any number of times. Pre-Ordering will grant you a Steam key for Slime Rancher, a DRM-free copy of Slime Rancher(not Steam), and access to the in-development builds. Also, Humble Bundle is a fantastic way to get numerous games at huge discounts. It's worth checking out if you haven't already.

When you pre-order the game there are one or two things (I think this forum, and humble bundle) that you have to register for before you are able to download the game. Once you do, you'll receive an email containing a website, username, and password which will allow you to access the download file. The file itself is standalone and you unzip it yourself when you open it for the first time - I think it's the DRM-Free copy that you get - so you don't need to download humble bundle's application to play the game. You may have to re-download the game whenever an update drops though, so keep an eye out for those.
