Textures not loading on Linux

Postby AutofireII » Mon Dec 21, 2015 7:34 am

Hiya! First post, hopefully first of many! *Waves beer mug* Wait a moment...I don't drink alcohol! *Throws mug out the window*

On my Debian Linux box, Slime Rancher's grass and dirt textures don't load, or something like that. I've sent an in-game report, but I wanted to give my system's specs and wanted to share a picture, in case they help.

No, the grass should not be that pink.

  • OS: 64bit Debian Linux, currently using stable version.
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (Yeah, it's old.)
  • Graphics card: GeForce GT 630, running version 340.65 of the proprietary driver.
  • RAM: 4057640 kB

This computer is capable of running Spiral Knights and Hand of Fate. (The latter is made with Unity.) I should also mention that adjusting Slime Rancher's graphics settings doesn't fix the issue.
You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

I had the excat same problem on Debian x64, with latest nvidia drivers and a 750ti.
Had to boot Win as usual for playing the game, heh.
Furthermore if I try to run the game windowed on Linux it doesn't even load properly it seems.
Sent an ingame bug report some days ago.

The linux version is currently the least tested of all so there is likely more than a few issues with it. Please submit a bug report when you see these errors and we'll do our best to track them down. Thanks!
