Will Slime Rancher have native Steam Controller support?

just wondering if in the future you guys will have native support for the Steam controller.

I don't know how the steam controller works exactly, but doesn't it have native Xinput support? If so it should work, although I'd imagine binding the trackpad to the mouse would be preferable, as it often is in shooters.

As I remember, it mimics keyboard and mouse.

I believe the steam controller should 'just work' but if not we would probably have to buy one and look into it.
