Martian colony

Postby QuantumTangle23 » Sat Mar 10, 2018 4:13 pm

In this forum game you have to create and make a thriving colony.

Just explain the change to the colony!

Right now we start with

1 shipping shuttle (to ship products to earth)
1 Farm (produces martian wheat)

Let's begin!
Quantum tangles are the hardest slimes to ranch.

But who can say no to that cute little face?

Construction of hub module. Hexagonal inflatable pod with 6 airlocks, one of which is connected to entrance and another to the farm.

Smart investments allow for another farm, this one grows Stellar tomatoes.

The farm features 181 plants to honour the U.S.A's 81 states. This is not a progress post - just an image post.

The Рука Corridor (Ruka Corridor) is constructed. It hosts 5 airlocks to be used for branching. China tests the Dāo Fission Missile, resulting in heavy condemnation from effectively the entire world, particularly the U.S.S.R due to its aggravation at their misuse of imported U-235 intended for power generation in deprived areas. Yíng habilitation module construction postponed.

Currently there has only been farms.

More humans (or humanoids) come to the colony. To make the colony suitable, barracks are added.

Barracks? Do you mean habilitation modules? I don't think a standing armed force is necessary yet.

Lets make this a bit more interesting...

Postby CrazeePi » Sun Mar 11, 2018 3:02 pm

A letter is received...

Dear puny colony,

Yarr, we be coming for yer riches soon while you still be puny, but since we be nice pirates we send this letter in advance. Should everything be going to plan, we be attacking ye either tomorrow or two days from now (in real time), it depends, it'll most likely be two days. We thank ye in advance for yer spare parts.

Also, what be a habilitation module?

Sincerely, the pirates who don't do anything except attack your colony and run off with your riches.

A letter is sent...

Dear pirates,

I'm afraid to say, but we don't exactly have any riches... why don't we rescedule the attack so there are some riches to run off with?

Also, a habitation module is a place people sleep and eat, like a house.

Sincerely, the colony you want the riches of but doesn't actually have riches because they just got here.

Okay, so I'm gonna make an exception for necroing this time, since Forum Games are almost absurdly popular at the moment. Hope you don't mind.

The british Calph Module (named after renowned nuclear scientist Mark Calph) is constructed. It has the capacity to hold 96 colonists and their 0.5m^3 of luggage; the colony's population is now 30 after +15 from the Ariadne-1.

The Blitzschlag Nuclear Fusion Generator is implemented after its parts are unpacked from the Ariadne-2. It is accompanied by 5 full fuel cells and 2 depleted cells; the colony now has a total energy output of 20,000KwH and enough fuel for 20 years of constant output.

Meanwhile on Earth, tensions in Asia are rising. Japan, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, The Philippines, Indonesia and China have signed the Asia Anti-Nuclear Pact, but threats are still commonplace.
Nationalism is rising in Europe, particularly in Scandinavia, after the Economic Crisis of 2104. It is unknown what this will result in.

The pirate attack is rescheduled for 8:00 a.m. tomorrow after a brief letter exchange:

When be the time to nab yer loot?

Also, what be necroing?

Insincerely,
Those pirates who have nothing better to do

You return:
Well, it can't be 5:00, because we have a party then, and 6:00 because we have a party then, and 7:00 because we have a party then, so 8:00 a.m. will be fine.

Insincerely,
Those humans who have planned lots of parties

The pirates say,
Thanks!

What be a "party"?

Insincerely,
The pirates who are jealous that the humans have lots of things to do, even if the pirates have no idea what the humans are doing

Mars is full of resources, so a drill is built to gather ores.

A letter is sent to GoldenLucky...

Dear GoldenLucky99,

Yarr, we not be attacking at 8:00 am in the morning because what kind of self-respecting pirate does that? We instead be attacking two days from when the original letter was sent, which should be around 23 hours from when this letter was sent, unless you be wanting to simulate the pirate attack, in which case be sure to go easy on the lads, this be their first pirate raid.

Also, what be a running gag?

Sincerely, the Captain who wants your stuff.

A knock is heard on the door. Three pirates armed with tasers are outside. You can let them in now or wait until they come in on their own. They probably won't wait too long though.

EDIT: The pirates decide to stop waiting and open the door.

Due to the lack of an attempt to stop them, the pirates just walk in and automatically win.

You have lost...

    - Your drill and all your ore.
    - 1 fuel cell.
    - 10 people who thought that pirates are really cool.

After its theft, work to rebuild the Aper-1 is underway. It is still unknown how the pirates managed to disassemble a 100-ton welded mining drill in such as short amount of time, let alone what they wish to use said equipment for. Similarly, there seems little demand for one-of-a-kind nuclear fuel cells - particularly considering their incompatibility with any device other than the Blitzschlag. Nonetheless, losses are low and so repairs are simply time-consuming. DNA-tag samples have been taken from the airlocks and Aper-1 base, however.

The Kingdom of Hawai'i (and its client states, all of which have made small contributions) has joined in on the fun, sending the Kedera Material Laboratory via their iconic Nahesa-III workhorse. The laboratory hosts a great variety of equipment for material analysis.

Alexander II of Sweden has died of old age. He is replaced by Felixia I of Denmark, forming the personal union of Sweden-Denmark.

After reviewing the water usage of the farms and drinking water of the population, it was decided that recycled water would not be enough and launching up water was too expensive, so a second drill was built to drill for ice, and a small treatment plant was constructed to purify the water.

I quite enjoy all sorts of lore, so here we go.

The Spaniards, who all live on the moon because of a terrible incident involving the entire ocean and a nuclear power plant, (If you'd like more clarification I can provide JUICY DETAILS in a private message) decide they want in on the action. After various politics, they decide that they want a giant terrarium. Wait, isn't it called a biodome? They also send love, and a delicious, moist cake.

More of the good stuff.

Unfortunately, when the cake arrives, the moisture has seeped out and into the sent craft's onboard computer, accidentally frying it. Big oops on Lunar Spain's part.

TL;DR: There is now a Spanish freight-class ship stranded on the launchpad.

Judging from TheGreciansHousehold's lore posts and his posts on here, this takes place FAR before the world is annihilated. This is likely before the planet Zephyr was even discovered.
