For a great deal of time, I have been fascinated by Zephyr's human and natural geography. After much heavy research, I am - and I don't like to boast - very likely the most informed individual on Zephyr's settlements in the I.G.A.

Although my attire may resemble something from the stylish, sepia-stained scientific expeditions of the 19th century, I am far from out of date; my style may be beyond its expiration date, but modernism breeds in my conscience.

Above my shoulders, however, fashionable formality disappears; I have no interest in pruning my hair each morning when I could be spending that time documenting the finest cheeses my planet has to offer. I am often told that I appear like a half-finished topiary bush; finely detailed and clean on one end, and a messy chaos at the other.

"Fascinating! The ecology on this planet never ceases to amaze!" said Break-flaw. "I think this place is quite amazing." "do weez hav any meets?" said Edward. "We have only been on this journey for 3 hours and you're already hungry? Sigh..." said Break-flaw. "Hang on, is that the next town over there?"

"Aah! Sorry.. I haven't done as much interstellar travel as I might've liked. Yeah.."

"Thanks for letting me come." Said Vyx "Some people fear contact with me incase I have traces of.......... my invention on me." "As for food, I would let you eat parts of me but I'm afraid that that tastes terrible and is quite poisonous."

"Good question." Segar pulled an old-looking and kofi-stained sheet of paper from his shirt pocket, and scanned the path scrawled in permanent marker across its face.
"It's a slightly diverted path from the west of Saroste to the east, which should take us a few weeks to finish. If we really need the time, we can always return to the optimal route."

"Anyways, it's probably best we get going. Only... 71 posts left!"

"A post is every little box of text in this thread" Replied Vyx, who had already started strolling "In fact, the only way I'm doing everything is by posting."

"Yikes, looks like we have a problem." said Break-Flaw. "There's a big canyon in the way. We could go through it, but there's a safer path that will take more time. Which path should we take?"

"Aha! I see you've spotted the Great Ka'irea'i Schism. But this is no obstacle." Segar gesticulated towards the vast chasm, red sleeves casting waves of dust over the summer-dried clay ground. "Ka'irea'i is known for its microclimate caused by the hot steam expelled by its many steam vents. To survive such high temperatures, settlers ventured into the only place cool enough to bear - the canyon." As the group's eyes adjusted to the sharp contrast between the white light of the surface and the orange light of the canyon, small streetside shops, paths, signs and tunnel entrances began to appear against the walls of the canyon.

"Ka'irea'i is the only province of Zephyr in which 99% of the population live below surface level. If we want to get anywhere, we'll need to go through the canyon. It is probably now a good time to introduce you to the man who'll be navigating us through this maze of a city."

A thin, tall man in a short-sleeved khaki longcoat and casual attire materialised from behind the carved stairs to the first level, and waved his ine'ka'a hat at the party.
"Hello everyone. I am very pleased to meet you." The man said in a confident tone. "My name is Esquiren. Do not mind the accent; I am fluent in Ka'irea'sae and English and will happily translate for you."

"It is well time that we should be getting along on our journey. Please follow me - the canyon may look to have a simple layout, but fatal mistakes are easy." Esquiren marched down the steps and began to weaving between the commuting folk, and began the great journey through the 6 cities of Ka'irea'i between them and the province capital of Glorié.

"Wow, that's a big canyon."

"This canyon is quite big, so perhaps we have time for a quick bite?" said Break-flaw. "Those hot springs look like the perfect place to set up camp for the night."
