Slime Science: Slime Pets

Slime pets are cute little slimes that follow you around.
Each one acts as a regular slime, except it follows you around.
To get one, you will need a Slime tamer.

Cost of slime tamer:
10 pink plorts
20 slime fossils
1 Royal jelly

To get a pet, just throw a slime in!

Almost all slimes can be tamed, except:
Saber: There are no pure sabers.
Gold: You can't vac them.
Lucky: Same problem as above.
Largos: Too big for the tamer to hold.
Tarr: For obvious reasons.

Each slime has (mostly minor) abilities when following you:
Pink: A little faster then the rest.
Rock: Performs that spin charge randomly, but doesn't harm you.
Tabby: Jumps higher then the rest.
Phosphor: Flies. Due to it being a pet it survives in the sun.
Rad: Has that aura, but doesn't damage you.
Boom: Randomly explodes, but doesn't harm you.
Puddle: Occasionally blushes. Due to being a pet it doesn't evaporate.
Crystal: Creates spikes, but doesn't harm you.
Honey: Much more social than others.
Hunter: Turns invisible occasionally.
Quantum: Teleports occasionally.
Dervish: Occasionally makes a tornado.
Tangle: Moves items thanks to its vines.
Fire: Leaps. Doesn't die or hurt you.

To change pets you need a Pet house.
It requires:
10 Rock plorts
20 bee wax
5 Phosphor plorts

Pets cannot eat, make plorts, harm the rancher, be eaten by tarr, try to drown itself, die of natural causes, become largos, become tarr, and will teleport back to you if it gets too far away.

If pushed in the slime sea or sand sea, it will respawn back at the pet house.
If the player dies it will also respawn at the pet house.

Nice idea, but wouldn't the pets be basically useless?

I actually had a very similar idea, so I'd totally love this to be in the game. The only suggestion I would have would be to perhaps make the slimes more useful in some way (as Emerald pointed out, they wouldn't serve much purpose), a couple of ideas perhaps being a Puddle Slime shooting water at Tarr to help slightly when an outbreak occurs, or a slime helping to find secrets such as hidden treasure pods.

(I just came up with those off the top of my head, so I'm sure those ideas aren't brilliant, but in general I'm just saying that some kind of purpose for companion slimes would be neat.)

It's an interesting idea, but I feel like I'd constantly be seeing it out of the corner of my eye and mistaking it for a wild slime. Maybe if it had a hat or 'collar' or other identifying mark, or was way tinier than usual?

About the pets, I had an idea about them which I posted to steam in the past.

An NPC would be added and after doing some quests for her/him you would be able to buy a single pet (just one) which costs a lot. After owning one you could feed them to increase their abilities.
Pets;
*Doggo(Dog)
This pet would return some of your items to you if you've been knocked out. Feeding increases the chance of getting more items.
*Horslyn(Horse)
This pet would allow you to use it to increase your speed (a horse). Feeding would increase its speed.
*Batcams(Bats)
This pets would allow you to place cameras around the world and spy the wild. Feeding would increase the amount of the bats.
*Monkee (Monkey)
This pet would bring you random items (fruits, plorts(even gold but so rarely) and veggies). Feeding would increase the speed of bringing new items and rarity of the items it brings.
*Molly(Mole)
This pet would bring you random lab resources. Feeding would increase the rarity of the resources it brings.
