Free form slimes? (warning, long post)

Postby HoneySlime3 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 6:42 am

Last night I was coming up with an idea for a fan fiction I wanted to write. Basically, a scientist would enter the Far Far Range and conduct an experiment that not only put slimes in danger, but people as well. This experiment would make a new species of slime that was basically the slime equivalent of a zombie break out.

The scientist would put a largo in the middle of a large moat, surrounding it with a fence. He then shoots a plort at it, the slime eating it. The slime would turn into a tarr, and be trapped inside of the fence and moat. The scientist, using a large bag with a handle (so he can maintain a distance of at least 30 feet) would, take some of the slimy, liquid surface of the tarr to sample. Then, using a syringe, he would inject it into a normal, pink slime. After a few days, the slime would begin to experience some changes. It was beginning to lose its mostly constant shape, and becoming more 'liquidy' and free-formed like the tarrs. The slime would turn a darker colour and have that rainbow, glossy look to it, starting to spread from the bottom, to the top.

Much like a tarr, the subject multiplied once given food. However, it multiplied more slowly than the tarrs. Due to this, the slime's reproduction was dreadfully painful for the subject, but wasn't enough to kill it.

A few days pass by, and both subjects now have the tendency to crave other slimes rather than henhens or vegetables and fruit. They had also gained the abilities to use their free formed shapes and turn into anything they wanted, as long as that form had the same mass as a slime. After the reproduction kept happening, it was noted that some would use it ti their advantage, and others would use it to intimidate others. In fact, one would even confront the scientist, taking the form of a female human to lure him in. They wanted to eat him alive.

But after I came up with this concept, I thought it would be more fun to have a more kid-friendly version of these slimes in the game. Basically these slimes would have 6 forms (one for each location on the map). Basically these forms would be friendly to adapt to their surroundings. I came up for one in the Quarry. Basically it would be a bipedal animal-like thing. It would have big ears to listen for henhen, skin flaps under its arms to avoid damage from crystal and rock slimes, a small muzzle to sniff for any unknown fruits, vegetables, or henhen that got stuck under the map (let's face it, it's happened to most of us), and claws to help it scale those large cliffs, but I feel like their form on the ranch would be more fit for playing and staying warm. Maybe like a seal? Now that I'm writing this, a slime that looks like a seal would be amazing. Besides, there are already 3 cat slimes (including saber slimes).

But yeah, that's my idea.

I'm not sure if that would be fitting...

But the more child-friendly concept would be less like a tarr. It would eat everything, like a pink slime. The only difference is that it can change shapes, and it's not pink.

Gotta agree. Seems a bit too gothic.
