A Fresh New Zone: The Mirror LakesI had typed the entire draft of my idea out earlier, but it got deleted. Reposting now, will take some time.Location:Accessible via warp.
OROn the outskirts of the Overgrowth, in the Slime Sea on the side where Hobson's vault entrance is.
Topography & Geography:Somewhat similar to the Indigo Quarry, with large pillars/juts of rock. Squarish columns and mounds, with cracks. A large portion of the area will be huge slabs of white/gray/silver rock (marble) that are flat. On top of these slabs of rocks will be very large lakes (the mirror lakes) that are shallow enough to walk on normally. There will be spots where the ground beneath the water dips dramatically, dropping into medium-sized underwater tunnels underneath the lakes. These tunnels lead to underground beaches that eventually let out onto lower portions of the area. I essentially see the zone as a bunch of big blocks of rock, all of them at different heights. They drop down like cliffs, with certain spots with walkways and natural stairs that allow the player to climb up. The shallow pools pour down onto lower areas, with really thin and shallow waterfalls. More on this later.
The area lacks much fertile soil, much like the Indigo Quarry. This lack of soil has prevented the Overgrowth's flora and fauna from spreading into the area. Still, the unique minerals present in the marble have allowed certain plants to grow. (Probably new ones, I'll work on this later)
Slimeology and Technical Stuff:This might be important later.I'd imagine certain 'hot springs' or something that releases water from the ground, to give a reason as to why the area has all the shallow pools.
The area is supposedly recently-formed within the last few thousand years, which is why the marble hasn't ground down into fertile soil and the terrain hasn't eroded, also why not much new stuff has formed.
The area juts out of the Slime Sea.
Because pink slimes are a thing, and they eat anything, they are there.
Because of all the rocks, there are rock slimes.
Because phosphor slimes are a thing, and the area will have sparse fruit trees, and the area has caves, there are phosphor slimes.
Because there would be quite a lot of open-area lakes, there are puddle slimes.
Because much of the eroded marble hasn't been able to break down further into soil just yet, it has been absorbed by a few rock slimes over time, resulting in the
Marble Slime. (More on this later)
Because the area is a result of probably some plates crashing, it juts out pretty far and has a high altitude.
Because this is Slime Rancher, the slimes and food sources in this area won't
actually be sparse and hard to find, like the Indigo Quarry.
