Slime Commissions

I've got a surplus of slimes that remain without a slimepedia entry, but I can't decide which entries I should priorities, so if any fellow ranchers have encountered a slime with no entry, feel free to describe it to me, and I'll see if I have a few recordings of one.

Some of my prior findings:
http://imgur.com/a/XKzWv
http://imgur.com/a/KAOJH
http://imgur.com/a/mNGGD

All you need to do, is reply to this post, with a description of what the slime looked like, and, if you can, how it behaved.
It would also be helpful if you could list whether or not you would like me to write the slimepedia entry, or if I should send you the image of the slime so that you could make the entry, just make sure to credit me when you do so.

I found this slime when I was searching the Moss Blanket for Hunter Slimes.

Appearance:
The slime was dark grey with white cracks.

Behaviour
The slime (Let's just call it the Mimic Slime) can disguise itself as another slime. It looks almost exactly like the slime it's mimicking, except for cracks that are colored differently depending on it's disguise. The Mimic Slime can only disguise as slimes that aren't largos. The specimen seemed to only eat fruit. It seemed to group up with the slime it disguises itself as, because from what I've seen, the Mimic Slime doesn't seem to have any defenses, other than disguising. Largos seem to also have it's cracks and disguise ability, but they can only disguise as other largos.

You should make some sort of a counterpart to the phosphor, boom or rad slime i think the opportunities are pretty much there.

(Some ideas)

Phosphor : Bat slime, Butterfly slime, Antlion slime, Lantern slime

Boom : Quake slime, Inferno slime, Incineration slime, TNT slime

Rad : Nuclear slime, Aura slime, Psychic slime, telepathic slime

Overall keep making these posts about you finding new slime species. They really brighten my day and make me think about the future of slime rancher. Just keep doing what your doing !

The other day I went to empty my drill extractor in the indigo quarry and when I thought it was done giving resources, a purple slime popped out. It had rocks that greatly resembled indigonium on its head, and it looked like it had a big eyebrow made outta it. upon noticing me though, it quickly turned upside-down and spun like a drill and before I could capture it, it had dug through the ground and was gone!

Good name for it would be "Indigo Slime" or "Ore slime" or heck, maybe even "Drill slime"

A few days later I encountered another, and before the sucker could drill and escape I sucked it up and I did a bit of research on it. Its rock head drill thingy allows it to drill through the ground, which is how it gets its favorite food: indigonium. it also exhibits an ability that is only used if it somehow ends up in a big pool of water. It can move through the water at high speeds by drilling. It also sinks to the bottom of any area of water, considering it has all that rock on its head.

A rough image I drew of it should be somewhere in this post.

Thx -JtB

When I found one, I was lucky enough to snap a picture just as it noticed me, shortly after, as you said happened to you, it burrowed away.

a while ago, i found a tarr having a feeding frenzy on a bunch of different slimes. as i hid in a corner and watched, it transformed! it was surrounded in a rainbow veil with a black 4 pointed star and a white 4 pointed star surrounding it. (if you want to see my drawing, its under this post, via the name "void tarr".)

it noticed me right after transforming, and i didnt want the slimes to die. there were quite a few plorts around, so i shot one it at it. it removed one of the colors of its veil. i had an idea, and shot more plorts at it. soon, the veil was gone. i wondered what to do next, so i shot my only gold plort at it. it destroyed the white star orbiting it. i didnt know about any black plorts, so i wondered what i needed to do. but then, out of the corner of my eye, i saw a gold slime turn black from being near this transformed tarr. i shot it with a carrot, and it gave me a odd plort, that i soon called a "shadow plort". all of a sudden, i was being pulled towards this weird tarr. i didnt want to get eaten, so i did the only thing i could do. i shot the shadow plort at it. right before i was eaten, it began to swell in color. i fell to the ground, and saw the horrid beast swell in color, and explode. all the slimes it had eaten came out of the tarr, and it dropped a suspicious plort. i picked it up and examined it back in the lab. i realised it had all the genetics of the plorts that broke the veil. i named the plort a "fusion plort" and the tarr a "void tarr" due to its black hole-like capabilites and its infinite appetite.

can you please do the void tarr and shadow slime? it would be cool if they were in the same area. btw, shadow slimes are aggressive, so it wont have the same expression as a gold slime.

(I don't know how to put an image in so pretend the toxic slime image is here)

While I was out in the Indigo Quarry hunting for Treasure Pods, I noticed this strange slime sitting in a green pool of water.

Toxic Slime

Diet: Water

Favorite: None

DPS: 50

These slimes appear to be puddle slimes who have had strong exposure to Rad Slimes. As a result, they have a odd greenish glow and appear to poison their surroundings. They retain the diet of their original forms, but when they are placed in a pool of water, they will start to poison it. This poison will quickly hurt the rancher and any slimes who go into it, so other types of slimes stay far away. Their plorts still burst out of water, and poisoned water slowly goes back to normal after time.

Just out of curiosity. Are these just for personal images to do whatever you want with or are these slime creature suggestions for the main game that could be added later in development?

PS: I love the stuff you guys are doing here.

It is mainly just for fun, but when the devs don't have any ideas for slimes in new areas, they sometimes come here to get inspired, so, a bit of both.

While exploring the deeper Moss Blanket, I found myself stumbling and getting stuck (slowed) on a slimy substance that hung from the tree branches above. I looked up and couldn't see any slimes, but the slime color on me was a green that match the color of the leaves. After climbing the tree, I found the source, a slime with a nucleolus holding onto the side of the tree just chilling there seeping/dripping/hanging down the tree. By all account the slime body was small, but the drippings covered everything. When I went to suck up the little guy, the slim drippings went with him into my gun. When I shot him out on the ground, it was the size of a Largo, then spread out into a big puddle on the ground. It didn't produce plorts either. I then placed it on grass near trees and it proceeded to climb the tree and nest on the trunk and drip/hang from the branches. After awhile a plort pops out. I feed it a different plort and it gained the characteristics of said plort and hooped around like a normal slime but made big puddle footprints as if it was still quiet gooy.

Appearance: Green slime, matches tree leaf color or bark to blend in. Has a nucleolus so you can find the main body, otherwise sucking at the puddle/drippings doesn't give you the slime.
Size: Largo when shot, small otherwise with a puddle/drip effect.
Movement: slow, to doesn't move. Just hangs.
Risks: No real risks. If you walk into the slime as it hangs from the trees, it decreases your speed while touching it.

Basically it's like a Water/Puddle Slime. Hangs on Tree trunks and it's puddle hangs from the tree branches. I think this could really add a cool visual effect to make it more jungle-like. These guys eat bugs that fly into their slime-sickles.

PS: I'm horrible at hand drawing lol.

I wanna call it Trunk Hugger, or Tree Hugger. But we're going cute here... So Sugar Booger? What do you think? :-D

Just looked at the slime names... to be consistent with the name scheme. How about Sappy Slime? I still like Sugar Booger as a nickname.

Also now that I'm thinking about it. It could have cool purposes for making sticky gadgets. This is So COOL.
